New era for MPAS heralded - EXCO appoints new ED and puts focus back on members

SINGAPORE — After a jubilant Executive Committees (EXCO) meeting of the Media Publishers Association of Singapore (MPAS) held on 28 July 2015. President John Thet, Vice-President Russell Channon, Treasurer Katie Peace and Secretary Alex Cano are pleased to announce that Alexander Knight was appointed Executive Director.

The MPAS EXCO and ED will now focus on making sure that the members are put first and foremost in preparation for taking MPAS into its second decade. A bumper programme is being lined up for the rest of 2015 and into 2016 - the 10th anniversary year of the founding of the association in 2006.

A substantial membership drive will be undertaken, a monthly newsletter will be sent to the industry, regular MPAS social gatherings will resume, a new awards programme will be implemented – that will include all media publishers - and a winter conference is being planned.

President John Thet said: 'Today is a great day for Singapore media in general. With an energised EXCO and newly appointed ED, we can reach heights now previously only imagined.'

‘We’re delighted to have Alexander Knight on board as ED - he was Vice-President of our association and has held various EXCO positions over the years. Alexander knows the association inside out and is looking forward to reinvigorating it.’
