Singapore to host the second annual Asian Publishing Convention and the Asian Publishing Awards
Deadline for submission of award entries is May 30, 2008.
Singapore – May 13, 2008 - The Magazine Publishers Association of Singapore, the Society of Publishers in Asia, the National Book Development Council of Singapore and the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre lead regional and national publishing associations to make APC and APA happen in Singapore. Supported by the Media Development Authority and the Singapore Tourism Board, cooperating associations include the Malaysia Magazine Publishers Association and the Magazine Business Association of Taipei. Co-organizers are Telesis Consulting and OIC Events.
The organizers are announcing that the deadline for submission of entries to the Asian Publishing Awards incorporating the Asian Magazine Management Awards, the Asian Book Publishing Awards, and the Asian Corporate Communications Awards is on May 30, 2008.
This year’s Asian Publishing Convention (APC) will be held on August 14 and 15 with the theme Emerging Business Models For Multi-Media Publishing: How Content Is Core to Making Profits in Print, Online and Mobile Media.
Corporate sponsors include Swiss Post, Synovate, Atex, Adobe, with other leading companies expected to be confirmed shortly. PR partners are Amex Team Thailand, Integrated Public Relations Malaysia, Masso Group Vietnam and PR Society of Indonesia.
247 delegates from 16 countries attended last year’s inaugural launch in Malaysia. Many more are expected this year. APC has been described as the event for the Publishing industry in Asia with over 50 speakers from 12 plus countries expected.
APC brings publishing executives and professionals up to date with world trends in print, online and mobile media.

An integral feature of the Asian Publishing Convention is the Asian Publishing Awards, recognizing and honoring best practices in the publishing industry in Asia. Publishers, Editors, Design and Circulation professionals from all over Asia will be invited to submit outstanding projects or programs. The awards will be presented during the event’s Gala Awards Dinner on August 15 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore, culminating APC 2008.
